Privacy Policy
Kintra (“Kintra,” “we,” “us”) is a group event-planning app operated by Michael Matar. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email [email protected].
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, username, and display name. Optionally, a phone number, birthday, and a profile photo (either one you upload or a preset avatar).
- Content you create: plans and events you make (titles, descriptions, dates, and any location text you type), invites, poll votes, questionnaire answers, circles (groups you create), friend connections, and post-event wrap-ups including any photos you add.
- Images you upload: profile and event photos. Please note these are stored and served at public links, so anyone with the link can view them.
Information from sign-in providers
If you choose to sign in with Discord, Google, or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider, typically your email address, name, and profile photo, so we can create or access your account. We do not receive your password for those services.
Information collected automatically
To keep the app stable, we use Sentry to collect diagnostic data when the app runs into errors: device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports, and a limited sample of performance data. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not collect your device location or your contacts.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the app, including creating plans, sending invites, and tallying votes.
- To authenticate you and secure your account.
- To send you transactional emails such as sign-in codes and invitations (delivered through our email provider, Resend).
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve reliability.
- To protect the safety and integrity of the service and to comply with the law.
3. How your information is shared
- With other people you plan with: content you create is shown to the people you invite or share it with. When you share a plan by link, anyone who has that link can view the plan without an account.
- With service providers: we use a small number of providers to run Kintra: database and file hosting (Supabase, self-hosted by us), transactional email (Resend), crash diagnostics (Sentry), and the sign-in provider you choose. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
4. How long we keep your information & deleting your account
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and the personal data associated with it. Some content you shared with others may remain visible to them, and residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups before being overwritten.
5. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children
Kintra is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update most details in the app, delete your account as described above, or email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. International users
Kintra is operated from the United States and your information is processed there. If you use the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice.
